Faisalabad is the Manchester of Pakistan

Faisalabad is the Manchester of Pakistan and a business hub too, the main business of Faisalabad is textile and textile related products. And in Faisalabad there are most rich men of Pakistan lived and being very popular and rich men as well as politicians these personalities use their names to start any type of business and utilize their resources in legal and illegal ways and some times borrow the loans from some banks and then there is no way to refund these loans back to banks. And the result is bank crupt. And all Burdon is on the genral people of Pakistan in shape of taxes and bank charges etc.

I am explaining this all because in Faisalabad there was a public project start by local govt for cheap transportation. But this transportation is the big problem of the city and there is no concept of these types of buses travel in the city root.
This project was METRO MANTHAR buss service. And this project is finance by SMEDA.
Its 3 or 4 years before started plan and still running. In the start brand new busses was given to route and there is no regular maintenance of the busses and now these busses are so called BUSSES. Here is the picture of metro manthar bus which is stopped in main square of koh-e-noor and passengers of this bus is pushing to restart the bus because its fails to start by itself and this happened in Faisalabad every where…

Faisalabad Air Port International

Introduction & History of Airport

In 1942 a bricked strip was prepared (5000’ x 100’). However PIAC started the domestic operation in 1958. In 1965 the strip was converted into a proper runway (dimension 9000’ x 100’ & surface bitumen) to accommodate Jet Aircraft Operation. In 1966-67 terminal building for 50 passengers and Fokker APRON was constructed. In 1972 a new parallel runway (dimensions 9000’ x 100’ surface rigid ) was constructed west of existing runway (which was in deteriorated state) to accommodate Boeing Aircraft Operation. In 1974 Jet Apron, Taxiway-B, ATC building Communication and Met Offices were constructed.

Executive Lounge for 20 Passengers and ILS were provided in 1985. In 1986 the Terminal building was extended to accommodate 150 plus passengers. In 1991 old runway (the one on right) was widened, strengthened and extended (dimensions 9270’ x 150’ surface bitumen) to accommodate Airbus Operation. In 1993 CIP Lounge was constructed and terminal building was extended to accommodate 200 plus passengers. In 1998 Hajj Operation was started from this Airport which was stopped in 2000. Later it was resumed via Karachi in 2004-2005.

Existing Facilities

Faisalabad International Airport has a briefing & concourse Hall, Departure, Arrival, CIP & Executive Lounges are available in the Terminal building for both Domestic and International Operation. The seating capacity of each is as under.

All the lounges are equipped with Air-conditioners, water coolers, Toilets for ladies and gents & separate prayer areas etc. Porter Service along with Rent-a-Car Service are available at the Airport. 350 Passenger trolleys are available in the terminal building. TV Network is available in the entire terminal building. Three refreshment counters, one in departure and two in concourse hall. One Canteen in the Parking Area. Car parking having a capacity of 200 Cars is available.
